PKG Equipment's plastic fabrication department meets the highest standards of quality. In order to produce the best plastic tanks, our plastic fabricators use forming machines and butt welders. In the 1980's, PKG was the first company in New York State and the third company in the country to have a butt welder and former.
- Forming machines bend thermoplastic sheets in full sheet thickness up to 2" thick and 10' long to form angles to 110°.
- Machine butt welders fuse individual sheets together to form a continuous sheet. Butt welded joints exceed parent material strength.
Plastic tanks fabricated using this equipment are much stronger and more durable than tanks that are all hand welded.
Plastic tank fabrication does require some hand welding, and the quality of the welds depends on the skill of the fabricator. PKG Equipment's plastic fabricators are well trained and highly skilled. They are ASTM C1147 qualified which means they are tested to a nationally recognized standard by an independent testing lab. They are experienced in the proper set up of equipment and welding methods and take pride in fabricating quality plastic tanks.
